Taxed Enough Already???
Dear TFRW Member:
Americans are TEA’d
by Newt Gingrich
Americans are used to April 15th being the day you’re told to pay up.
This year, Tax Day is the day to say you’re TEA’d – Taxed Enough Already.
As you read this, liberals in Congress are beginning the process of forcing passage of the $3.6 trillion, high-spending, high-borrowing and high-taxing Obama budget.
President Obama is even mobilizing teams of his presidential campaign supporters, now a political organization called Organizing for America, who are going door-to-door campaign style to pitch his irresponsibly massive government expansion program that will raise taxes on every single American.
And what could they possibly be saying about a budget that the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office predicted last week will lead to deficits $2.3 trillion larger than the Obama White House is telling us?
Once again, we see Washington promoting irresponsible spending and expecting responsible taxpayers to foot the bill.
Here’s what you can do to fight back: On April 15, join your fellow Americans at Tax Day Tea Parties across the nation to say no to the Obama budget. I want to tell you about two groups that are helping to organize the Tea Parties. Why these two groups? I will tell you in a minute and explain how you can participate.
Get Involved in a Tax Day Tea Party on April 15
You won’t read about it in the elite media, but tens of thousands of Americans in hundreds of American communities are organizing Tax Day Tea Parties for this April 15th.
Some communities have already held Tea Parties to fight back against Wall Street and Washington insiders who’d rather taxpayers ask fewer questions and write more checks.
Over 4,000 turned out in Orlando, more came out in Cincinnati than at anytime since the Vietnam War protests.
But all of this has been a warm-up act for April 15.

Conservative U.S. Navy veteran to challenge Arlen Specter for Pennsylvania Senate seat
At only 33 years of age, Generally will be seeking Arlen Specter’s U.S. Senate seat in 2010. Specter, Generally said, has greatly departed from the idea of a representative republic as advanced by those who had met 230-plus years before in the building behind him. Intrigued, I reminded him that, considering the entrenched support which accompanies lengthy tenure on Capitol Hill, his would be no easy task.
“I don’t do ‘easy,’” Generally said. “I’ve never done ‘easy’ in my whole life. Rarely do I find that ‘easy’ is worthwhile, and if we need anything right now, we need ‘worthwhile.’ If that means that once again I’ve got to do ‘hard,’ if that means that once again I’ve got to sacrifice for the good of our nation, for the very nation I’ll turn over to my baby girls, then so be it. I’m ready.”

Update 03.11.09 7am
The Texas Senate just started taking public testimony from individuals who signed up to speak YESTERDAY MORNING!!!!
====+====+====+====+====+====+====+====+====+====+====+====
UPDATE!!! 03.10.09
Yesterday the Senate began the hearing as a committee of the whole to address the voter ID senate bill (different than Rep. Brown’s bill outlined below) by Frasier. The Dems asked questions for several hours AFTER they tried numerous points of order and other parliamentary hail marys. Invited testimony began around 6pm. As of 11:26pm March 10th the Senate was still listening to invited testimony! This means the average Texan who took time away from their business day to come and testify spent at LEAST 14 hours (probably more) to state their opinions and thoughts on the subject.
Yup, you read that correctly more than FOURTEEN HOURS! More to come tomorrow!
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
The big debate starts tomorrow in the Texas Senate. To follow what happens minute by minute go to Austin American Statesman Website click here.
This was sent out today by Rep. Betty Brown. These are the items HB 125 addresses.
- Requires voter to present a registration card and a photo ID to prove their identity
- Requires the voter registrar of each county to provide ID requirements with every new registration certificate or renewal
- Requires the Secretary of State to mail out a notice of new ID requirements to every voter that cast a provisional ballot or who did not submit an ID in the last election
- Requires notice of ID requirement to be posted outside of polling place
- Allows for an exemption if the voter executes an affidavit claiming to be indigent or has a religious objection to the documentatioAllows the following forms of photo identification: a driver’s license or personal identification card issued by DPS, a US military card, a valid Veteran’s Identification Card, a US citizenship certificate, US passport, concealed handgun license, tribal identification card.
- Allows various forms of non-photo identification if the person is 65 or older and has never has been issued a birth certificate or resides in a nursing home or residential care facility.
- Allows for a provisional ballot to be cast if the requires cannot be met
- Allows 10 days for a voter who cast a provisional ballot to provide proof of identification or execute an affidavit if an exemption applies
- Requires DPS to issues a Photo ID FREE of charge if the person is acquiring the ID for the purpose of voting and is unable to pay the fee
- Does NOT impact those who vote by mail-in ballot
Voting is the most basic building block of our system of representative democracy. Voting is the one right that breathes life in all others, because through voting, citizen choose lawmakers such as ourselves to uphold the Constitution and make laws that protect their rights.

- An admitted illegal alien who has been accepted to UCLA is said to be distraught by her inability to collect state and federal financial aid.
- Illegal aliens can apply for mortgage relief under the Obama administration’s $275 billion plan, according to immigration experts and a group the government will use to help homeowners modify
These are only two stories over the last few days abou this issue. Texas is offering a number of bills dealing with illegal aliens. Here is a short list.
- HB 125 by B. Brown–Relating to requiring a voter to present proof of identification.
There are a number of voter ID bills but this is the best one. We will be tracking it and lobbying on this one.
- HB 266 by Berman–Relating to regulating the provision of benefits and services to, and the verification of the employment status of, immigrants and to enforcing laws relating to immigrants; providing civil and criminal penalties.
- HB 1703 by Laubenberg–Relating to a biennial report on the cost to the state of services provided to illegal aliens.

By MITCHELL SCHNURMANGov. Rick Perry wants $524 million from the Legislature to lure companies to Texas, but he may reject $556 million in federal money for residents who’ve lost their jobs.
How did our priorities get so out of whack?
The business of Texas may be business, but it’s shameful to deny help to thousands of laid-off workers during a recession, when it becomes even more difficult to find work. And it’s a suspect financial call, too, because Uncle Sam is offering to pick up the tab for five years or longer.

“Never let a serious crisis go to waste. What I mean by that is it’s an opportunity to do things you couldn’t do before.” ~ White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel
And the Dems didn’t. Today they passed the stimulus bailout package, even with EVERY Republican voting against the measure.
Rush Limbaugh said, “There’s a serious debate in this country as to how best to end the recession. The average recession will last five to 11 months; the average recovery will last six years. Recessions will end on their own if they’re left alone. What can make the recession worse is the wrong kind of government intervention.”

A victory for the hysterical Oprah Winfrey, the mad racist preacher Jeremiah Wright, the mainstream media who abandoned any sense of objectivity long ago, Europeans who despise America largely because they depend on her, comics who claim to be dangerous and fearless but would not dare attack genuinely powerful special interest groups. A victory for Obama-worshippers everywhere. A victory for the cult of the cult. A man who has done little with his life but has written about his achievements as if he had found the cure for cancer in between winning a marathon and building a nuclear reactor with his teeth. Victory for style over substance, hyperbole over history, rabble-raising over reality.
A victory for Hollywood, the most dysfunctional community in the world. Victory for Streisand, Spielberg, Soros and Sarandon. Victory for those who prefer welfare to will and interference to independence. For those who settle for group think and herd mentality rather than those who fight for individual initiative and the right to be out of step with meager political fashion.
Victory for a man who is no friend of freedom. He and his people have already stated that media has to be controlled so as to be balanced, without realizing the extraordinary irony within that statement. Like most liberal zealots, the Obama worshippers constantly speak of Fox and Limbaugh, when the vast bulk of television stations and newspapers are drastically liberal and anti-conservative. Senior Democrat Chuck Schumer said that just as pornography should be censored, so should talk radio. In other words, one of the few free and open means of popular expression may well be cornered and beaten by bullies who even in triumph cannot tolerate any criticism and opposition.
A victory for those who believe the state is better qualified to raise children than the family, for those who prefer teachers’ unions to teaching and for those who are naively convinced that if the West is sufficiently weak towards its enemies, war and terror will dissolve as quickly as the tears on the face of a leftist celebrity.
A victory for social democracy even after most of Europe has come to the painful conclusion that social democracy leads to no jobs; mediocrity, failure, unemployment, inflation, higher taxes and economic stagnation. A victory for intrusive lawyers, banal sentimentalists, social extremists and urban snobs.
Congratulations America!
